Writing

 Greetings my fellow worshippers. In week one my entire class did Writing tumble. A Writing tumble is when you get given a task that has been put on a slide show. It was for writing if you hadn't noticed. We could do any style. There are different types of styles for writing and any other subject. There is a Narrative, Poem, Moment in time and much more. But most of all we had to make it our best quality work. We had to do two of them. I did two moment in time stories and I am doing a narrative. There is a photo of a tunnel made out of bush and a photo of the  sun set setting down in the Islands. I think that our writing is really good for one of them and I am still working on the other one. I think it was kind of hard and annoying because it kept turning into a  a story when wanted it to be a Moment in time. I found it really fun and exciting because you can say anything you want about the picture!!!

Maths Dazzler digs on

Hi  Bloggers of the world. Today in maths we did Dazzler Digs On. It was about writing number stories, and it's about knowing your facts and grouping. There were four questions, some of them were hard, sometimes  I got really confused on a question .We had to work in our groups, it was really fun and sometime really easy. We had to show a picture in our books. Then our teacher sent us off to do a Screen castify. I had to do it outside and it was really cold. It was so FUN.

Sentece starters

Hi bloggers of the world. This week I am doing a Literacy Tumble, It is when you do... must dos, could dos and should dos. Right now I am doing a must do (this blog post). So in our Literacy Tumble this week, there is something that is called sentence structure. You have different pictures, you chose one and then you write different sentence starters. We had to get into our group and work together. There were different sentence starters. There was an alliteration, the -ly starter, short sentences, and attention-grabbing sentences. I think that it is great to do this stuff because then you will know to start your sentence with different starters and it will improve your writing. I think that I did really well doing it, and it was little bit hard because the first time I did it I had no idea.

Interland

Hello bloggers of the world, Today we did Interland. Interland is something where you can learn new things and skills. If you don't know what type of skills? It is the ones that help you see if it is a scam, hacked ,or cyber bullied. We were given a task to make a DLO on Interland. If you don't know what DLO stands for, it stand for, Digital Learning Object. It was about what it meant and the reasons they created it. And how I felt. And we had to get

extra info. There were different types of lands, There was Mindful Mountain, Kind Kingdom, Tower of Treasure and Reality River. It was really fun. Technology

Hi guys we were doing some technology. For the past three weeks we were doing a Technology challenge. For it we did  Geo boards, Manukau circuits And a techno challenge. Now which one  should I start with? The technology challenge. 

The technology challenge was all about team work. The teacher that was running it was Mr Rattenbury. We had to create something that would  hold a marble out the furthest. But we only did to have fun . The materials that we used were 3 pieces of card, straw cup and sala tape. It was really fun and it was hard because of then ideas that we had and we only chose one. 

Then the next week we did circuits , it is when you can make something like a light that can switch on and off. We had to do this challenge it was really cool. We had to use LED lights, LED battery, sala tape, foil, split ping and paper clips. It was hard but really cool, I've never done anything like that. But the  hardest was the switch.

 Now the Geo Boards. I think it was hard because we had to use a saw, and hammer and nails. We had to do it very careful. It was a challenge. We were all so tired but when we finished we got to create our own patterns with the different  coloured  Rubber bands, I did a Dragon Fly.

Cross Country

Hi bloggers of the world on Monday we did cross country, what we had to do was come to school in uniform and then get changed. And then the announcements. Our teacher Ms Sands told us the course we will run. The juniors were doing one Kilometre, middle school were doing one and a half Kilometre, Then there were the seniors, we had to do two Kilometres. Then we broke up into our year groups. There were some people that were leaders and they got bright orange T-shirts. it was the juniors first. Then it was the middle school well they were racing we were doing  switch over. Then it was our turn. The boys went first then then the girls. It was tiring. we did really well.

ZOO Trip

Te Waka Ako (the senior school) and the teachers and some of the parents of the children in the class got to go to the zoo with us. We all got there on a doubledecker bus and  everybody was super surprised. 

 We went to the Auckland Zoo and every body was full of energy and excited to go.The zoo is so amazing. I got to experience all of the awesome animals there that I have never seen. My four favourites were the tiger, tuatara, kiwi and giraffe. We went to the tigers den and it spread something all over the glass with it's tail. But then... it got on to a rock and roared to it's mate, it was so cool. The kiwi and the tuatara were so cool.  To experience all of the animals we have never seen before and to go to all of the different enclosures. After the free time  was over, we went to the Bug Lab. It was so cool, there were so many facts. Then back  to free time we got to go to the Africa part, it felt like I was actually in Africa. We were in a rush to get back on to the bus, it was hard. We went back to school and relaxed as we ate lunch, we had 15 minutes of play time. My Geometric Art

Hello bloggers of the world.
We were given a task for visual art. It was Geometric Art. I had no idea what it was, but it was an out line of an animal with shapes and lines. Then we were slowly following the instructions. 

1.  We needed to do was find an animal, I chose a NZ Falcon.

2. Then we went on a google drawing and traced it with with the scribble.

3. Then my teacher printed the art out. 

4. Then we got a sheet of paper that we painted with white paint. Then we traced the out line at the back with a sketch pencil. And then we went over the lines on the front with pen on the white sheet of paper that we painted.

5. Then the out line appeared then we ha to make shapes.

6. Then we chose 4 colours then then we painted it.

7. Then we did the background and touch ups.

It was really fun and cool because a got to experience  geometric art. I would change the picture because I didn't like the shape of it, when i did the feet.

Tiritiri Matangi!!!!

Hello Bloggers of the world yesterday on Thursday, I went to the Tiritiri Matangi.  Tiritiri Matangi is an island of paradise, for all of the endangered animals that may not walk the ground again. But thanks to Tiritiri Matangi workers they may have a chance. We had to be straight on time wich was 7:30. it was a rush. but then the bus was 5 min late. then they arrived we got into our groups then we were of to the ferry. It was so much fun arriving to the ferry, when we were on the ferry I got a freight because it was only my second time on a ferry. We were supposed to bring money if we wanted. I bought some of the food with the money I had. It was long ride then we made it to the hauraki's golf to pick up more people to go to the island. It was 20 min to the island until we  arrived.then we arrived. We had to go down by the rail. then we had to get into groups. Then we had to go to our guides. Then we went to find new birds the first bird was a Kereru that we saw. It was a long trip. the fantail followed us because we disturbed the insects.then we had lunch at the light house. then we did a scavenger hunt the.we headed back to the ferry.  It was a short ride back. We went back to Auckland.Then thetrip was over and we headed back  to school by bus. on the way we watched the movie moana. we arrived around 5:45 Then we arrived back at school every body went home on the cold chilly night.  If you have been, please treasure it. ANZACS

This week we have been learning information On Anzac. The word ANZAC stand for Australian  New Zealand Army Corps. They wear a Army uniform, with medals on them. They also wear Bright poppies. The are a type of flower. In our class we were reading a book about the Anzac's. The two books were called Lest we forget and My Granddad Marches on Anzac Day. We had to do a task on My Granddad Marches on Anzac Day. Our task was to Put the taken out words in the story. It was easy. For the second book we did the Compare Contrast Map. it was a little hard. Cubist Art

Hi bloggers of the world. This term we were doing cubist art. Cubist art is really really cool. Cubist art was a famous art in the early 1900s which was cool. Here is a fact. Picasso was inspired by Seurat and Cézanne. Cubist art is when you do a portrait using shapes.You also need to do the straight lines in it. I did some cubist art as well. The Amazing race

Hi My fellow worshippers, Today I'm am going to tell you about the Amazing Race. Te Waka Ako did the a 2 hr race. That was kinda of related to the normal amazing race. We had to get into a group of four, Then we had to go outside and get the clues. They were really hard at first because we were clueless. But as we did it more and more we started to get use to it. I thought it was really hard. But we all figured out that we need team work. I learnt that you must actually think before you do and you need to do teamwork. I think that me and my group did really really well for the Amazing Race.  We all did really well.

Easter Bike ride

Hi bloggers of the world, Its me Shiya, and i'm going to tell you about my Easter bike ride Over the Easter holiday. I went for The longest bike ride in my life with my dad. I went Form My house to the mountain, Then I was supposed to have a rest.But I didn't Stop. So I had to go from the mountain to my naans house. Then I sneaked a 1

hr rest well my dad had a coffee. Then we went to the city and all the way back home. Then when we got home we had to set up  a Easter hunt for the adults We were laughing None of them found them because  my little brother Tayzsar ate them all. I learnt that just because there adults dose not mean that they have a smarter mind then kids.                                           Blog you later

My book review

Hi bloggers of the world. Last week I did a book review on Super Finn. We had to fill in slides relating to the book. I really liked the first thing that we did it was putting the story  together in the  beginning, middle and end. The main character slide was my favourite because you had to make a character using all the hair styles and the colours and the shapes. I found some interesting things in the slides. Cybersmart time

This week we are working on using descriptive language by sharing our writing straight onto our blog.  The challenge we have is to describe a place using only six sentences. After reading the description you need to guess the place that has been described. It would really help if you say what clues helped you come to this conclusion.

ALL ABOUT ME

Hi my name is Shiya and I am in Waitemata, I go to W.P.S. Last week we had a task to do and our task was to do our all ALL ABOUT ME. Our ALL ABOUT ME was about what we liked and what we are good at. When we first did it it was so exciting but as we went to do it properly it was so hard. The reason why it was hard was because you didn't know which one you should do. My most favourite on was the son artist. I really really like Beyonce, Rihanna. because the are really good at singing. And when I had finished this I had just realised that I had to put some pics on it. And I also had to change my background. The ALL ABOUT ME was kinda hard and kinda easy. I hoped you liked it.

Welcome to 2018!!!

Hi my name is Shiya and I am in room Waitemata. For cyber smart we were doing a DLO, That stand's for Digital learning object. We Had to get it in to groups of three. And I was it my best friend, Amaya, Lavinia and me. We had to make a poster based on the Kawa of Care. That's like rules of how to look after you Chromebook. On our one we did one when you can't eat or drink near you chrome book.
